Aighleann was raised in central Wisconsin and was exposed to the arts at a young age. When she was five her parents took her to the Ordway Theater in Minnesota for a performance of ‘Oklahoma,’after the two hour show Aighleann left telling her parents she was going to “do that!” Her parents continued taking her to the Ordway and Guthrie theaters as well as educating her in the great Irish playwrights of her heritage.

Her grandfather, Eoin McKiernan, is credited with spearheading the revival and preservation of Irish culture and language in the United States along with helping cement Irish as a national language in Ireland. His passion has found its way in Aighleann’s writing as her latest feature tackles an under appreciated Irish feminist ahead of her time.

Aighleann has studied acting at the acclaimed Moscow Art Theater in Russia, Stella Adler in New York City, The National Theater Institute in Connecticut and Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC. After earning her B.A. in Theater and Slavic Studies from Connecticut College she moved to Los Angeles. Aighelann continues to learn through classes and working on all types of projects. She has worked in a variety of genres but Aighleann’s love of classical literature draws her to period pieces.

She currently lives in Los Angeles but can be found at her family home in Co. Clare Ireland whenever the opportunity presents itself!
